Tomato paste – ¼ cup
White wine vinegar – ¼ cup
Sugar – 1 tbsp.
Capers – 2 tbsp.
Pine nuts – ¼ cup, toasted
Fresh flat-leaf parsley – ¼ cup, chopped
Penne – 1 pound
Kosher salt – to taste
Black pepper – to taste
